Getting Started
How do I create my first guestbook or photo tasks?
Register for free at photasky. You can then create a new activity under "My Activities" — enter the event name, date, and the desired number of QR codes. Once created, you can immediately download the PDF with the QR code cards, print them, and hand them out to your guests. As soon as your guests scan the codes and upload their entries, you will find everything under "My Activities".
Printing
How do I print the PDF correctly?
Make sure to print at 100 % / original size in your PDF viewer and that no scaling option such as "Fit to page" is enabled. Otherwise the QR code may be printed too small or too large and may be difficult to scan.
Can I order the QR code cards in different colors?
Yes! When you have the cards printed through photasky, you can choose from various colors — from classic white to rose, blue, green, dark blue, and yellow. You select the color directly when ordering under "My Activities".
The toner on my printed QR code cards does not get fixed properly. What do I do wrong?
Make sure to apply the correct printer settings for the paper type, e.g. cardboard paper. Then your printer will apply a higher temperature, which is necessary for thicker paper.
There was also a file “QRCode.png” in the email. What can I do with it?
This file contains your QR code as a standalone image — perfect for displaying it creatively at your celebration to encourage guests to participate. A few ideas: place it in a beautiful picture frame, have it engraved or laser-cut on wood, turn it into an embroidery or cross-stitch piece, print it on a balloon, or put it on a display stand at the entrance. The more eye-catching, the more curious your guests will be!

What do the pages look like that you land on when you scan such a QR code?
You can inspect and test these pages as demo versions. All you upload on these demo pages is not saved by photasky or anyone else.

Can the QR code of a photo task be scanned more than once?
The QR code of a photo task can be scanned as often as required. Scanning itself does not "do" anything, but the user is first redirected to a page where he/she can Leave a guestbook entry/solve photo tasks.
Do I have to install any special app for photasky?
No, photasky is a pure web app. Which means: It works without any installation of anything in more or less every modern browser on every internet device. Scanning of QR codes requires a device equipped with a camera, and able to process QR codes. This applies to close to all modern smartphones. If this is not the case, you can find various apps in your App Store/on Google Play if you search for 'QR Code Scanner'.

What about guests not belonging to the group of, let's say, 'digital natives'?
Of course! First, the page for submitting guestbook entries/photo task solutions is made easy and straightforward to understand (here you find a preview version for testing). However, if there are any problems, experience has shown that guests are happy to help each other.
Is there a maximum length for the submissions?
Comments can have arbitrary length. Videos and voice messages maximum 10 minutes.
Can a photo task be answered by several guests? In other words, can several guests use the same QR code?
This is possible without any problems! The solutions (photos) are saved separately for each guest.

What can I do with Premium that I cannot do with the free version?
With photasky Premium, in addition to photos and text, you can also receive videos and voice messages from your guests. Everything is stored for an unlimited period (instead of just 6 months). You can set up a custom cover image that your guests see after scanning. You can also download all files as a ZIP archive and create a PDF photo book. And with the gallery feature you can easily share the best submissions with your guests via a link.
Can I share my guests' photos and submissions with them?
Yes! With photasky Premium you can activate a gallery and share the best contributions with your guests via a link. You decide which submissions are visible.

Who can see the guestbook entries/solutions to the photo tasks?
They can only be read by the owner of the corresponding account, or the owner of an account to which the activity has been transferred. This can be done especially from Maid of Honor/Best man to the bridal couple. This means that no guest who would later scan a QR code can see solutions/guestbook entries that have already been saved. Exception: The guest has agreed that their photos and other media can be shown live on the photasky tablet at the event.
How does bridal couple/birthday child/... get access to the guestbook entries/completed photo tasks if I create the account?
It is possible for you to transfer any activity (guestbook/photo task set) to another account. Therefore, it is necessary to add the bridal bridal couple's/

How long will the photos remain available?
With photasky Premium for an unlimited period of time ― even years later. In the free basic version, photos are deleted after 6 months.
How do I download my photos and videos?
Individual photos, videos, and voice messages can be downloaded directly from "My Activities". With photasky Premium you additionally have the option to download all files at once as a ZIP archive and to create a PDF photo book.

What is the photasky tablet / connectivity box and what do I need it for?
The photasky tablet or connectivity box enables a live view of your guests' uploaded photos directly at your event ― on the tablet itself, or via HDMI on a projector or large screen. Optionally with moderation: you approve photos before they are displayed. Everything comes fully configured ― you just need to switch it on. It works anywhere with mobile reception, no Wi-Fi or pairing required. We can also preload photos (e.g. of the couple) on request.
Can I also rent a photo printer so guests can take their photos home right away?
Yes! The photasky photo printer instantly prints the photos uploaded by your guests ― just like a classic photo booth, but without guests needing to do anything extra. The printer arrives ready to use, including ink cartridge and photo paper for at least 108 prints. An optional HDMI connection for live view on a projector or large screen can be combined with it.
What is the audio guestbook phone?
The photasky audio guestbook is a real retro telephone from the 1950s. Your guests can simply pick up the receiver and leave a personal voice message ― no smartphone needed. The phone has a built-in SIM card and automatically uploads messages to the cloud. It runs on battery or mains power and arrives fully set up. A stylish, framed info display for your guests is also included. You will find all messages in your photasky account afterwards.
What is photasky offline and when do I need it?
photasky offline is the add-on for events at venues without mobile reception and without Wi-Fi ― for example remote mountain huts, castles or open-air parties. Instead of using the internet, your guests connect directly to the device: either via the built-in Wi-Fi hotspot or via Bluetooth. The device operates completely stand-alone and stores all photos locally on an SD card. Bookable in combination with HDMI (live view on projector/screen) and/or photo printer.
Do the offline photos end up in my online gallery later?
Yes! As soon as you send the device back after your event, we upload all photos stored on it to your photasky account. You and your guests can then access the online gallery as usual ― just as if the event had been running live over the internet. Only the timing differs: instead of in real time, the pictures become available a few days after the device is returned.
How do my guests upload their photos at an offline event?
Very easy: when guests scan the QR code, they get a brief instruction. They connect to the device's Wi-Fi hotspot (name and password are printed on the enclosed info display) or send their photos via Bluetooth directly to the device. It works exactly like pairing with headphones or a car speakerphone ― no login, no app installation required.
